Founder Summary

Michael McClellan is a co-founder of Apex Technical Solutions Group and one of the technical builders guiding platforms behind Buildvance and Braik. His formal title reflects technology leadership, but his work spans hands-on engineering, systems thinking, cybersecurity awareness, sports operations, and the realities of shipping products people depend on — not a detached IT role sitting outside the business.

Background

Michael’s background combines cybersecurity education, systems and network configuration, full-stack development, and coaching experience. That combination shapes how he approaches software. He thinks about how a system is structured, how it is protected, how users move through it, and whether it can hold up in real-world conditions.

Experience

His experience includes configuring systems and networks, building full-stack applications, planning technical workflows, and understanding sports operations from the inside. Through coaching and sports experience, Michael has seen how teams, programs, and organizations often rely on disconnected tools, manual processes, and software that was not built for how they actually operate.

Leadership Focus at Apex

At Apex, Michael often takes the lead on technology direction, development pipelines, networking considerations, system architecture, and the technical decisions that support Braik, Buildvance, and client-facing builds. He helps make sure the technology is not only functional, but structured in a way that can grow, adapt, and remain dependable.

Technical & Business Range

Michael’s role is technical, but not isolated from the rest of the business. He contributes to product strategy, user experience, workflow planning, development execution, and operational problem-solving. His coaching background also gives him a practical understanding of leadership, communication, and the kind of pressure that shows up when systems fail in real environments.

Founder Commentary

For me, building software starts with understanding the environment it has to survive in. A system can look good on the surface and still fail the people using it every day. My focus is making sure what we build is practical, secure, organized, and connected to the real workflow — whether that is a sports organization using Braik, a business using Buildvance, or a custom system Apex is helping bring to life.

Why the Co-Founder Model Matters

Apex is intentionally founder-led. Kenneth and Michael both stay close to strategy, development, communication, and delivery. Their responsibilities have different centers of gravity, but the work overlaps by design. That overlap helps Apex move faster, communicate more clearly, and build with a shared understanding of both the business problem and the technical solution.
