We didn't start Apex because it was a good business idea. We started it because we lived the frustration of trying to build something without the right tools — and we knew we could fix that for others.
We saw the gap and decided to close it ourselves.
Apex was born out of a simple frustration — too many businesses running on software that wasn't built for them. Generic tools, bloated subscriptions, workflows nobody asked for. We were living that reality ourselves.
What made it possible was combining what we each brought to the table — experience in backend systems, business development, sports, and an ongoing pursuit of cybersecurity. We had enough between us to see the problems clearly and the drive to do something about it. Apex was two people deciding to build something real.
Briak.io came first — a platform for sports organizations that were managing rosters in spreadsheets and communicating in group chats. Then came backend systems for businesses that existing software wasn't built for — field service teams, growing operations, anyone drowning in admin with no good fit off the shelf. Then custom websites for businesses that needed a real digital presence without the agency runaround.
